A collection of poems set to music
From the grimy barstools of a seaside pub and the shisha pipes of Westbourne Grove to the bright white sand of a Greek island and a derelict hotel, Jo Overfield and Ray Morgan take you on a journey throughout their spoken word travels, namechecking the people and places they meet along the way.åÊ
Jo Overfield is writer, performance poet, creative producer, radio presenter and film geek. She has written for BBC Radio 4, many magazines, and recently had her poetry played on BBC Radio 3's Late Junction. Her work spans the silly to the sublime, snapshots of life seen through the eyes of an observer.åÊjoverfield.blogspot.comåÊ/ @sundownarts
Ray Morgan is a writer, poet, blogger and rookie knitter. Her poems have been published in a host of magazines in print and online, and she has performed her poetry on BBC Radio 1 and at Essex Poetry Festival. Her first poetry collection, I am the swell of each wave, based on living by the sea, was published in January 2014.åÊraypoetry.blogspot.comåÊ/ @raypoetry
For the first time, Jo and Ray have collaborated on a collection that is backed by originally-composed music from The Diamond Family Archive, a two-piece psych-folk band. Using drums and guitars alongside found objects, toy instruments, FX pedals and drone, the music complements each poem as an individual piece. MusicåÊå©åÊ&åʉãÑåÊThe Diamond Family Archive 2014
