Jay Dee - Jay Deelicious: 95-98 The Deelicious Vinyl Years
Jay Dee emerged as a producer to be reckoned with in 1995 when his name was attached to the Pharcyde's 'Runnin' - the launch point of a producer's career that mesmerized, titillated and expanded the domes of hip hop fans for the next decade. This documents Dilla's early production on Delicious Vinyl between 1995 and 1998. Working closely with the Pharcyde, Jay Dee was instrumental in keeping 'Labcabincalifornia' as ear poppin and bugged as their maiden voyage, and soon after he worked on incredible mixes for the Brand New Heavies. From the jazzed out rhodes syncopation of 'Sometimes' ft Q-Tip, to the crazy cutting up of 'Got To Give it up on Saturday Night' ft Mos Def, Jay Dee shows there's no tempo he can't freak on some otherworldly jazzed up funk tip. This 22 tracks set boasts full vocal and instrumental mixes of 11 of those killer early works (including previously unreleased remixes for former Brand New Heavies singer N'Dea Davenport).
