Rob Agerbeek Quintet - Home Run
Rob Agerbeek started playing piano in his teenage years. He was basically self-tought as he learned solely by listening to the music of jazz greats on the radio and from records. In the beginning of his career he mainly played Boogie-woogie, later expanding his styles to hardbop, bebop, and dixieland. He played uncounted sessions with many famous jazzmen including Ben Webster, Hank Mobley, Dexter Gordon, Gene Ammons, and many others. Beside that he performed at many international jazz festivals too. Home Run is definitely one of his most exciting works which he has ever recorded. For the folks who love the music of Horace Silver, this is a equally great.
