This week sees new releases from the rejuvenated Manic Street Preachers, with influences ranging from krautrock, to modern art via all sorts of German philosophers.  Harry Dean Stanton (Molly Ringwald's dad in Pretty In Pink among many, many other thing) releases the soundtrack to his new film where he covers George Jones, Danny Boy and reconnects with Ry Cooder.  The long talked about Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Live 1974 album finally comes out, along with new releases from Eugene McGuinness, The Acid and Elton John's mate Bright Light Bright Light. This Record Store Day, which takes place on Saturday 19th April, we make our debut! Throughout the day we'll have DJs, including Gregory Wells from Domino Recording Co. and his own Hey Moon label, and Paul Lagden, guitarist in Southend's own rock 'n roll reprobates The Wobbly Lamps. We also have Zoë Howe signing copies of her book Barbed Wire Kisses: The Jesus & Mary Chain Story, which is released exclusively to independent record shops that day.  Zoë has written acclaimed books on The Slits, Wilko Johnson, Florence & The Machine and is currently writing about Dr Feelgood legend Lee Brilleaux...
