The Jesus And Mary Chain release their long-awaited new album Damage and Joy, the band‰۪s first album since Munki was released backed in the summer of 1998. The album has been produced by Youth, who plays bass, and also features performances from the band‰۪s touring drummer Brian Young as well as former Lush bassist Phil King. Damage and Joy is exactly that - the sound of damaged joy. It's full of 60s references, bloody mindedness, affairs of the heart and a whole ton of drug references make for a perfect storm. But what comes through clearest is the agelessness of the music they make.
