The circle remains unbroken: Christmas opening at South

The circle remains unbroken: Christmas opening at South

As you've probably noticed, we've been a bit quieter with emails over the past few weeks. That's due to releases slowing down in December, with more focus on end of year roundups (you may have seen ours last week, if not read here. Be warned - it's long).

If you're wondering where to come for any last minute panic buys (or vouchers, if you're not confident in choosing for the death metal fan in your life. Our vouchers are available online, or as a physical card in the shop), here's our opening times for the remainder of the year:

Open as usual, and then:

Christmas Day - Closed

Boxing Day - Closed

27th-30th - Open as usual

31st-1st - Closed

2nd - Open as usual

We haven't stopped picking up great used records, despite the slow down in new releases. This week we had in a great jazz (and adjacent) collection, with some rarities we've never even seen in real life (The Graham Collier Septet especially), there's also classics from Gil Scott-Heron/Brian Jackson, The Cedar Walton Trio, Stanley Cowell Trio, Donald Byrd, Eddie Henderson, and more. We've also got one of those surprisingly elusive solid blue triangle Dark Side of the Moon first pressings, alongside lots of other classics. Have a browse here. If you check our Instagram we also post a weekly used arrivals video there.

So, with that, we hope you have a good Christmas and we'll see you in 2026, if not before. If you want to see what we're up to between emails, you can find us on all the social media places: Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, Bluesky, Threads, and TikTok. We also have a WhatsApp group where we highlight rare records, in-store events, and other notable South Records goings on.

Thanks for being with us in 2025.
