The key to victory

New this week: Evan Dando returns with Love Chant, the first Lemonheads album of original songs in nearly 20 years - recorded in Brazil with J Mascis, Juliana Hatfield, and Apollo Nove. It’s a warm, melodic reaffirmation of Dando’s timeless songwriting, available on indies-only white vinyl. The Bats stay true to their chiming, bittersweet jangle on Corner Coming Up, their 11th album in 40 years, out on sky blue vinyl via Flying Nun. Darren Hayman’s Amazing Things turns loss into luminous, guitar-led pop - heartfelt, raw, and deeply human. Home Counties return with Humdrum, a nervy, danceable second LP produced by Al Doyle (LCD Soundsystem), available as a limited Dinked Edition on eco-mix vinyl with a hand-stamped sleeve, signed art print, and numbered edition of 300. Loveliescrushing’s bloweyelashwish drifts back into print as a double LP on precious silver vinyl, a shoegaze ambient classic lovingly remastered by Numero Group. Adam Green & Binki Shapiro’s collaborative debut brings 60s-inspired folk-pop charm to aqua coloured vinyl, while Belly’s long-requested King returns on black vinyl, remastered by 4AD. Rounding out the week: Pulp’s Different Class 30th Anniversary Edition, pairing the remastered album with their legendary 1995 Glastonbury performance, and Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition - a 4LP/4CD + Blu-Ray box set tracing the haunting heart of his most stark and powerful work.
