2021, Cindy, Dinked Edition, Further Listening, Playlist, Tough Love -

San Francisco has been turning up a lot of our favourite bands these past few years, with the SF labels Mt St Mtn and Paisley Shirt, along with Tough Love in the UK, bringing most of them to our attention. Cindy's third record, 1:2, has been on heavy rotation here for months and has finally seen release this week (as a Dinked Edition, or on blue vinyl).  BUY: Cindy - 1:2 To follow up the Further Listening playlist Cindy's Karina Gill made us for her other band Flowertown, we have another here. As usual (these San Francisco bands all seem to have...

2021, Essex, Love Record Stores, LRS, September, South Records, Southend -

Following the resounding success of the #loverecordstores campaign in 2020 and the subsequent Love Record Stores event, which took place last June, the campaign organisers have announced plans for a second event, which will take place on 4th September. Now an important fixture in the music retail calendar for UK record retailers, labels and music fans alike, Love Record Stores 2021  will be an opportunity for the independent music community to come together to support record stores who, like many other businesses, have faced difficult trading conditions throughout the pandemic. To go alongside their future classic debut record (out this week on Mt.St.Mtn) we asked Flowertown to make us a Further Listening playlist, and they've put together a real beaut, focussing on their friends in and around the great Paisley Shirt label. 2021, Andy Bell, Ever Decreasing Circles, further listening, mix, new, playlist, Ride, sonic cathedral, south records -

Andy Bell has been a constant companion to many of us for 30 odd years, as guitarist/singer in Ride, to bassist in Oasis, and now his solo work. He released his solo debut last year to coincide with his 50th birthday, and has followed that up this year with a series of EPs - the ever decreasing circles series (12", 10", 7" and CD). Perpetually moving forward with his own music, taking in ecstatic psych pop, electronic studio experimentation, shoegaze (of course) and all points in between. This Further Listening playlist, made exclusively for us, is a deep dive in...
