Already primed following the release of the transitional ‰Û÷Sunne‰۪ and ‰Û÷Murasaki‰۪ EPs, Cheatahs return with their second album, ‰Û÷Mythologies‰۪.
With their sophomore album the band demonstrate even further their devotion to experimentation, leaving their debut‰۪s hazy world for ‰Û÷Mythologies‰۪ ambitious Technicolor universe, in which motorik rhythms, garage and ambient punk flow seamlessly into one another.
‰Û÷Mythologies‰۪ was produced by the band and recorded in various London studios, Glasgow (Chem 19 studios, of Mogwai‰۪s ‰Û÷Young Team‰۪ fame) and a converted church in Ramsgate, before a decamping to drummer Marc‰۪s studio-home in order to complete the album.
‰Û÷Mythologies‰۪ takes in a vast array of influences whilst taking its name from Roland Barthes‰۪ 1957 collection of essays on semiotics and myth. A rollercoaster of sonic thrills.
The double vinyl format includes a digital download code.
