An unreleased recording of a Conny Plank session with jazz-legend Duke Ellington. Duke Ellington's musical works are seemingly well documented; the likelihood of finding a good, unreleased Duke Ellington recording is slight at best. Gronland Record had found exactly that in Conny Plank's estate. Conny Plank had great admiration for Duke Ellington and while he was quite selective with whom he worked with, it was an honour for Conny to have had the chance to do a studio recording with Duke Ellington and his orchestra. The recordings were created in the legendary Rhenus studios in Cologne in 1970.
