The Slits - Cut

This limited edition (2000 Copies) purple coloured vinyl re-issue includes their cover of Marvin Gaye's 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine' which was the B-Side to the 'Typical Girls' single. This high quality vinyl version features the same artwork including the empowering naked mud picture on the front cover and inner sleeve a la the original. This has been unavailable on vinyl in the UK since it's original release in 1979. The Slits were one of the first punk bands - and one of the last to make a record. On its release in 1979, the record was regarded as a five-star triumph. The pioneering mix of the band's punk roots and legendary reggae producer Dennis Bovell created an extraordinary masterpiece that ranked alongside other 1979 ground-breaking post-punk classics such as Pil's 'Metal Box', 'Unknown Pleasures' by Joy Division and the Pop Group's 'Y' albums. Thirty Seven years on, 'Cut' is still a landmark album and one that sounds as essential as the day it was released.
