Welcome my exotic friend to another dazzling trip into the most peculiar and engaging of British musical genres, Britxotica!
For this third amazing voyage we sail you to the South Seas, the very epicenter of exotic influences, styles and sounds.
As usual, Martin Green has outdone himself, and throughout the process of putting this album together we began with a very rough tracklist. Martin would then come over to mine on a weekly basis dressed in a hula skirt and clenching a fistful of new old discoveries to run through. Shuffling, substitutions and a bit more shuffling has resulted in the final, and dare I say, exceptional musical line up. Both Martin and myself have been collecting records for well over thirty year and it‰۪s thrilling that we can still find ancient and often quite mind-blowing British music that is fresh to our ears.
It‰۪s also amazing to think that the incredible music on this album was created by composers and artists who‰۪d have rarely sailed any further than the Norfolk Broads. But their far-flung musical visions are undeniably accurate and totally alluring.
I really can‰۪t wait for our next musical ride‰Û_I shall be wearing my Duke Kahanamotu Aloha shirt until it is pressed.
Thanks for listening
