This week sees new releases from the rejuvenated Manic Street Preachers, with influences ranging from krautrock, to modern art via all sorts of German philosophers.  Harry Dean Stanton (Molly Ringwald's dad in Pretty In Pink among many, many other thing) releases the soundtrack to his new film where he covers George Jones, Danny Boy and reconnects with Ry Cooder.  The long talked about Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Live 1974 album finally comes out, along with new releases from Eugene McGuinness, The Acid and Elton John's mate Bright Light Bright Light. A little later than planned, but here's a video of Barrence Whitfield & The Savages playing our first ever in-store captured by Agency Southend Not only is it pretty amazing that Barrence and his Savages played here, them being one of my favourite bands and all, but the guitarist Peter Greenberg and the bass player Phil Lenker were both in seminal Boston punk band The Lyres!  They both seemed a little confused that somebody from Essex, who's never set foot in Boston, firstly knew their first band so well and was a little awestruck to meet them.  I made Peter...
